At the end of July, Hilton Displays was able to lend a helping hand to Amazon Fresh Stores as they opened their new store in Washington, DC. The store is one of 12 locations in operation and is part of a larger effort from Amazon to further develop their brick-and-mortar retail business.
Previously, Amazon Fresh was an online-only grocery delivery service where customers could have their food delivered conveniently to their door. Now the business has expanded to include in-person locations in California, Illinois, Virginia, Washington state, and now DC.
What makes this grocery experience stand out among the rest is the introduction of what they call the “Amazon Dash Cart” which is part of Amazon's commitment to bting "WalkOut Technology" to the grocery market.
Prime members can still use Amazon Fresh to order groceries and receive free same day delivery or pick up from their local store. All patrons of the store are also able to order ahead from the deli, meat, pizza, and seafood counters. Amazon packages can also be delivered to and picked up from Amazon Fresh locations.
Hilton Displays has made a personal commitment, as well as a commitment to Amazon to continue to innovate and create signage which is compatible with the new technologies introduced by Amazon.
On the exterior we provided branded blade and primary identification signage which featured a new adaptation of the Amazon logo.
On the interior we created custom vinyl to be put around the store which included aisle markers, branded materials for the bag wall which reiterate the ease of purchasing from Amazon Fresh. As we are also experts in municipal and regulatory signage code, we equipped the business with all the standard signage required in grocery stores.
Amazon Fresh has made a conscious effort towards sustainability, which is something we take pride in at Hilton displays. Throughout the store there are many signs which give off an aesthetic glow as if they are made of Neon but are instead made of LED lights. LED lights are not only more energy efficient, but brighter and safer to use. These types of innovative signage solutions are what keeps Hilton Displays ahead of the curve.
